ModunOS
These Terms explain what ModunOS provides, what you control, and the rules of the platform. They pair with our Privacy Policy (what ModunOS knows) — they are not the same document.
Using ModunOS does not transfer ownership of your creations to ModunOS. You own what you create. You choose what to publish. You are responsible for what you send and publish. ModunOS provides infrastructure, first-party services, transport, and platform enforcement.
Own creations · control private content · choose services · stay responsible for activity under your account.
Core platform and first-party services — auth, sync, apps we ship, security, and delivery.
User spaces, citizen apps, embeds, and external networks are not automatically “ModunOS did that.”
Age eligibility · accurate account details · keep credentials secure.
You own your content; we need a limited licence to run the service.
Follow acceptable use; public means public — not ownership transfer.
Stripe for paid tiers; cancel disables paid features; deletion follows Privacy rules.
ModunOS is a platform and operating environment (web and connected clients). It includes Core infrastructure, first-party services we operate, and surfaces where people create spaces, worlds, apps, and content. Third-party processors (for example payments or AI models) and external links are not the same as ModunOS Core.
To create an account you must meet age requirements aligned with privacy law (including COPPA- and GDPR-oriented minimums):
Provide accurate date of birth and country during registration. Keep your password and sessions secure. You are responsible for activity under your account and aliases. False eligibility information is a material breach. We do not knowingly collect personal information from underage users; if we learn an account is underage, we will terminate it and delete information as our processes allow (self-serve deletion tooling is still maturing in soft release — see Privacy Policy).
You retain ownership of content you create or upload (subject to others’ rights and third-party licences). You grant ModunOS a limited, purpose-specific licence to host, store, transmit, cache, render, display to audiences you authorise, and make technical transformations needed to operate the Services — not a blanket right to commercially exploit your work as our own product IP.
If you publish something, you choose to make it available under the product’s publish rules. You must have the rights to publish it. Do not upload others’ copyrighted work without permission, invade privacy, impersonate people, or publish illegal material.
You may create, connect, and interact within the platform when features allow. You must not:
Full behavioural detail (including child-safety zero-tolerance and AI misuse): Acceptable Use. Report serious security issues via [email protected] or official channels on modunos.com.
Social messages may be stored and transmitted on ModunOS infrastructure so they can be delivered and so history can be shown. Delivery is not guaranteed. Recipients may keep copies (including screenshots). Deleting a message does not necessarily remove every copy everywhere. End-to-end encryption for a dedicated Messenger product is a direction we may grow into — it is not what the current social message store claims. Details on data handling: Privacy Policy.
AI features (including Lucen and Modun Void) can be wrong or inappropriate. They do not constitute medical, legal, financial, or other professional advice unless a specific service explicitly says otherwise under appropriate terms. You decide what to do with generated output. Cloud AI paths send prompts to configured model providers; Privacy Policy explains processing vs retention. We do not guarantee that AI output is exclusively yours in every jurisdiction.
Paid tiers are processed by Stripe. ModunOS records the entitlement needed to unlock features. Cancelling a subscription disables paid capabilities according to the billing provider’s cycle; it does not by itself delete your account or all data. Refund and cooling-off details are still soft-release provisional — contact us for assistance. Prices and SKUs may change with notice as the product hardens.
Soft release means ModunOS may change, break, undergo maintenance, depend on third parties, or remove features. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. Material changes to these Terms will be reflected on this page (and with additional notice when we have reliable channels to do so).
We may remove or restrict content, suspend or terminate accounts, and block abusive use to enforce these Terms, protect users and infrastructure, or meet legal requirements — including emergency action for serious security threats, illegal activity, or imminent harm. User-initiated account deletion, suspension, and termination are different events; data fate follows the Privacy Policy’s retention and deletion lifecycle (active removal first; backups and recipient copies may lag).
By creating an account or using ModunOS Services (including modunos.com, related subdomains such as ai.modunos.com, and connected clients), you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services. The Services are operated by Modun Systems (founder Charles Arden, United Kingdom). ModunOS / Modunos are product brands under that umbrella — not separate companies. Formal entity details (for example Companies House number) will be updated here when registration outcomes are finalised.
“Services” means the ModunOS platform, Core infrastructure, and first-party features we make available. User-generated spaces, apps, and third-party or external content are provided by their respective operators or publishers and are not warranties of ModunOS beyond hosting/access we expressly provide.
You must meet the age requirements in the Accounts section above and provide accurate registration information. You are responsible for safeguarding credentials and for activity under your account and aliases. We may refuse, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law.
You retain ownership of your content. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, store, reproduce, transmit, display, and process that content solely as needed to operate, secure, and improve the Services and to honour your publish settings. You represent you have rights to the content you submit and that it does not violate law or these Terms.
ModunOS software, branding, documentation, and first-party materials remain ours (or our licensors’). Your creations remain yours. Third-party marks and materials remain their owners’.
You must not misuse the Services, attack infrastructure, distribute malware, circumvent access controls, scrape or harvest personal data unlawfully, or use the Services for fraud or other illegal activity. Detailed behavioural rules are in our Acceptable Use policy, which forms part of these Terms for soft-release purposes.
AI outputs and lifestyle guidance (including Health and Garage features) are provided for general information and convenience. They are not a substitute for qualified professional advice. You use them at your own judgment.
Paid features are billed through our payment processor. Taxes may apply. Failure to pay may result in loss of paid features. Cancellation and renewal are handled through the payment provider’s tools unless we state otherwise.
We may suspend or terminate access for breach, abuse, underage registration, legal compulsion, or risk to the platform. You may stop using the Services at any time. Account deletion requests are handled as described in the Privacy Policy; we do not promise instantaneous destruction of every backup, cache, log, or recipient copy.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Services are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Soft release features may be incomplete.
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ModunOS and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the Services. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under UK law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud). This section is provisional soft-release drafting and will be refined with legal review as the business entity hardens.
These Terms are intended to be governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are intended to be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections that may apply where you live. Confirmations will follow incorporation and solicitor review.
We may update these Terms as ModunOS evolves. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance for soft-release purposes, subject to mandatory consumer rights.
